Why Citizenship’ Amendment Act is a curse for our State

Its high time we contemplate our thoughts on this contentious Act. The values of the people are taken more into consideration in a democratic institutions. However today democracy of the people and for the people seems to be in peril.Good governance the government speaks boastfully often seems to be in lost and in vain. The Citizenship Amendment Act grants recognition to all the six minorities (Hindus Sikhs Buddhists Jains Parsis and Christians) living outside India as citizens of India if they have been residing in India on or before 31st December 2014. The reason behind the granting of this citizenship to this minorities the Government of India claims blatantly is due to religious persecution of this minorities living outside India’ in parts of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. However the question arises as to why the Government of India has to further implement this rules when the election is just at our doorsteps? Is the present government trying to play another dirty foul politics in order to regain the votes of the hindus majority in India taken into account the religious sentiments?
From the Government of India with love ,the Ministry of Home Affairs gifted a bag filled with exemption to some few States including Nagaland ensuring that CAA of 2019 will not be implemented in all this states. Just as a child who rejoice on seeing the gift brought by the father, the peope of Nagaland seems to be rejoicing on visualizing the gift of exemption not realising this gift can subterfuge and prove to be a determintel factor in the long run. Though it might not have any immediate impact on our state. There are consequences where we need to ponder. Granting a citizenship to this six minorities from outside India especially hindus will have an inadvertent impact on our land. You give them a citizenship and they become immune since they will be shielded and protected by the constitution of India giving them their inalienable constitutional rights thereby liberty of movement and residing in any part of the country and that can create a big impediments on our state as well specially when we have so many illegal immigrants (Hindus) in the masquerade form claiming to be Indian but realistically from the alien world residing and trading in different parts of Nagaland. Why we should take this seriously is because they have already taking away so many of our jobs and other opportunities and economic benefits that belongs to the people of Nagaland and therefore the more influx of these people will also create population explosion in our state leading to scarcity of resources impacting our economy and social life in galore.Through years they have been maintaining seperate identity and there are chances where they might have establish their linguistic and cultural supremacy in places they reside today and that could pose a big threat on our future our people and the culture that we have been practising since time immemorial.Today you welcome them to our land, tomorrow you hire them for your work, the next day you give them shelter for their sustenance, the following day they will start business, the next following day they will earn and ultimately they will start draining our wealth to each different states. When we already have so many illegal immigrants in our state pilferaging and draining our resources to other states. Keeping our hope alive thinking that CAA is just a myth and can never bring a curse upon us could be the biggest mistake of our life.

Correcting the Erroneous System of Governance

The three contentious Farm laws 2020 which were trending in news for quite some time over a year because of the prolonged ongoing tug of war that was persisting between the Government of India and the farmers was unexpectedly repealed by the Narendra Modi Government on the 19th of November 2021.The quirky announcement landed yet another speculation among the citizens perceiving it as being politicized due to the upcoming elections in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. Despite this hypothesis among the crowd, the roll back by the government indicates a remarkable victory of hope for those agitated farmers who have been relentlessly protesting against these aforementioned laws who strongly regards the farm laws as possessing anti farmers elements. The farmers on the pretext of Article 19(1)b of the Indian constitution has been indefinitely protesting against the Farm laws 2020 for a high long duration of one full complete year albeit the adversity and the endurance that they had to face while infighting against the system during these spun out past sufferings reminding  people the expression after the storm comes the calm. Their endeavors and resilience is the paradigm of how citizens or the farmers can technically confront their inalienable rights even after interfacing a strong resentment from the powerful Leviathan. Aristotle excerpts on how the guest will be a better judge of a feast than the cook is a reminder to the Indian government that the farmers perspective and their mutual consent was pre-requisitely necessary as it was the farmers who was  literally supposed to taste the feast of the farm laws than the political chef who made it. This victory is a reminder of valour and courage which needs to be inculcated in the minds of the people who think their rights have been deprived many times.

In India and particularly in the state of Nagaland there are many unresolved issues that the government needs to restore in order to make people believe in the considerable political system all over again. However, the recent issues the people really need to fight back has been the current rising prices in the basic commodities followed suit the incessant inflation that has actually distorted the hopes of many middle classes and the poor alike who has been acquiring all the requisite basic commodities at a much higher rate than it normally costs despite earning only a meagre amount .In suffix, the prices of the petrol and the diesel culminates and displays no sign of descending back towards its previous standard rate. Yet the people look relaxed and over the moon, some musing in isolation, some of the many listening to their favourite tune that plays all is well and assuming everything sounds okay but ultimately fails to realize the consequences that Pandora’s Box has to offer in the long sprint. The unemployment level is yet another story that needs deliberation and discourse where the citizens and the educated are denied entry into government jobs, sourcing scarcity of vacancies or the anomalies that follows. Lack of better infrastructure and delay in reconstructing the institutions that can generate employment opportunities is also an impediment towards creating more avenues for the unemployed youths.

Nagaland is no less exception which holds a record of 24.7 percentage as the first-ever worst-performing state in terms of unemployment ratio ironically embarking a glory yet again overtaking the previous record of 17.4 percentage as published by the Periodic labour Force survey 2019-20.This is a wakeup call to the citizens of Nagaland that should perhaps group together and raise the issue concerned by squawking a loud with a slogan  ‘together we are making a difference’ a speech widely circulated in opposition to the global politicians for not taking any heed to fight the climate crisis and ecological crisis as framed in Greta Thunbergs’ book No one is too small to make a difference. Likewise, it’s time to act and stand up for the better Nagaland and move at odds with the erroneous system that is a hindrance or less the inclusive future of Nagaland will always remain at stake. The Government adores the theory of red -tapism as such most of the political and  administrative functioning of the system has been placed at bay which in fact requires more time to resume back hence leading towards work procrastination and delay in justice. When such a system prevails over a long time the development gets hampered naturally and as such the people suffer in the hands of the government. It’s a fine time for the people to grab their gears and furbish as a warrior to lock horns against the erroneous system so as to strike while the iron is still hot.

Empowering women-the leadership role in the current scenario.

“No country can ever truly flourish if it stifles the potential of its women and deprives itself of the contributions of half of its citizens”-Michelle Obama.

Globally women have shown their success paradigm in various different important sectors that man holds hitherto. When the Cold War era impeded long last and the 34 heads of European countries mainly dominated by male lauded rejoicing the end of unprecedented Cold War era. The feminist advocates on which ‘era did it end eventually ‘ as the patriarchal era strongly persists still at that point of time. Today the ending sluggish nature of the patriarchal system is roaring near with escalating winds of change waving tremendously in the favour of women moulding them in the front sprint socially, politically, culturally, and economically. A stereotype where leadership is male specific is not gender specific anymore. One among the five key aspects of the UN Inter-Agency Committee on Women and Gender Equality indefinitely supports gender inequalities in power and decision making. Politics in the Nordic and Baltic states displays the decision making paradigm accessed by the women .Finland Prime Minister Sanna Marin and President Sauli Niinisto, Norway Premiere Erna Solberg and recently elected first female Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas, Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern advancing the role play exhibiting their incessant valour and prudence in the public decison making is indeed influential and stands praiseworthy. The rise of Kamala Harris as the first women vice president of US and the highest elected official in the US history displays yet another landmark victory certifying women.A bird in the cage metaphor that often circumscribed women freedom is seen degrading spontaneously with women flocks now efficiently leading the flying V formation of the birds holding in abeyance the sky is the limit. The world greeted and watches India’s daughter Bhawana Kanth the sole and the first female fighter pilot to represent women in the Republic Day in her well refined jumpsuit costume making her the limelight of the parade signs a symbol of women empowerment . As a tribute towards the Girl Child Day the Government of Uttarakhand couragesly laid the responsibility of assembly affairs into the hands of a young and dynamic 20 year old girl Shristi Goswami as the Chief Minister of child assembly for a day marks a matter of pride and respect towards women. The first women team of 34 female was also inducted into CRPFs COBRA commando unit. This enormous field requires tough mental and physical attributes which can now be noticed significantly in women will perhaps impetus inspiration to many young girls aspiring to partake fin the commando or military sector. The theory prescribed by Virginia Wolf in her essay A room of one’s own room evince inconsiderable here when she strongly avers of how men socially and physically dominates women by inscripting women as men’s mirror . Today women force has reached its highest mountain heyday with aplenty of women participating in various sections thus empowering women in the leadership role though there are still instances of noticeable woeful issues interfaced by women on the other side of the river bank. The world’s richest person list incorporates the likes of Mackenzie Scott an American novelist,Walmart heiress Alice Walton an entrepreneur ,Francoise Bettencourt Meyers a French Billionaire whose family owns the company L’Oreal marks the incoming of women entitlement in the wealth and the economic segments as well. The world also witnessed the inbound leading right activists in African countries such as Odunayo Eweniyi and Damilola Odufuwa fighting for the rights of Nigerian Women. The #EndSARS (Special Anti Robbery Squad) movement projected became a rallying cry around the world. The world even witnessed the coming of leading child climate activist Greta Thunberg a Swedish born and the environmental activist Nemonte Nenquimo leader of the Waorani nation, Ecuador. In the health sector, when the world was fiercely battling the pandemic and human life was supposedly put at risk, the real life superwoman Sarah Gilbert Co founder of Vaccitech developed a corona virus gun vaccine that could help save the world from the intangible creatures of COVID -19.Today the replenished theory of women empowerment has churn out galore women to substantially explore their inner potential and have enormously labelled their titanic name in the global world thus surpassing men in various diverse sectors. The philosophical statement inscribed by JS Mill on his brilliant essay “The Subjection of Women” proves worth here when he strongly stated the women could not be treated as inferior to men in terms of their intellectual and spiritual capabilities. The Greeks philosophy “silence is a woman’s glory” has indeed transformed into “the unsilence of a woman is her glory today”.

In the context of Nagaland where women have been undoubtedly empowered in various important segments the crestfallen lies inherent when the state does not have even a single female individual in the political decision making body.Womens role in the political sphere still remains bleak and sings irreversible with persisting cumulative deadlock between Article 243T (2)and (3) of the Indian constitution which famously speaks in favour for reservation of seats for women and the indispensable Article 371A that grants special provision with respect to the state of Nagaland with Article 371A(2) as the major contention . The Naga women which constitutes half the population of the state remains to establish their political visibility only as voters due to the cultural, social, economic and self imposed constraints as stated in the journal Electoral dynamics of India-the study of Nagaland by Professor Maomenla Amer. The only women elected as a member in the Lok Sabha representing Nagaland till date has been Ms. Rano Shaiza in the year 1977.Today Naga women no longer live in the era of Aristotle where womens role were confined only within their domestic work. The Naga women has established themselves as the strong contender of men in various fields such as education, entrepreneurship, art, music, sports, media, research etc leading the current life race through their exceptional finesse though they are still to label their infinite name as the highest political decision makers.

How New Education Policy 2020 will influence the education system in Nagaland.

Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world-Nelson Mandela.
The calendar year 1968 proves pivotal in Indian history when the Government of India under the then Premier Indira Gandhi announced its first national policy on education based on the recommendation of the Kothari Commission which seek to develop proposals to bring overhaul reformation in the Indian education system.Till then three significant reformation on the education policy has so far been introduced with Narendra Modi administration kicking the latest spot that formidably prints ‘New Education Policy 2020’.The NEP 2020 unequivocally manifest galore positive feedback from the intelligentsia and the stakeholders who believes a better implementation and cooperation from the Indian states will bring education revolution thence elevating the Indian education system on the par with other developed countries. Yet the stain on the white clothe persists with the southern states of India obstructing the new language formula and the raising issue of anganwadi workers to educate the children at pre primary level storms the deck with many perceiving it could handicap the childrens education as less educational qualifications are conveyed by most of the anganwadi workers/teachers.Wherever the pros and cons the New Education Policy eye promising.
The education landscape in Nagaland needs revamping and the NEP 2020 could prove influential. The Gross Enrollment Ratio which seek to target 100 percent in the secondary school and 50 percent in the higher education by 2035 marks a significant step. Article 21a and 45 of the Indian constitution clearly guarantees right to free education. Nagaland GER in higher education currently holds at 18.7 in contradictory to India’s GER at 26.3 percent. The contract of GER by the NEP will impetus the children from Nagaland to eschew crucial insurmountable task for instance the major school drop outs due to socio economic condition or financial constraints particularly advancing the children to work in domestic or commercial field. The World Day against Child Labour 2020 focuses on the theme ‘children shouldn’t work on fields but on dreams’ perspicuously solicit towards the child education. The child labour survey conducted by the Kailash Satyarthi Children’s Foundation (KSCF) which aim to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 8.7 of eliminating Child labour by 2025 in the country interprets the inclusion of Nagaland as among the 10 states of India which constitute 14 percent of the total child labour population in the country is daunting. The GER targeted could henceforth bear out noteworthy. The Plato’s “allegory of the cave” explains on how education can implicate the ignorant people by transforming them into being rational and how it can eliminate the ideologies they perceive or illusioned as it ought be.This explicit extraction from the Plato’s work audibly shows the education paramount and how it can impact the people living in poverty and without education.
The 5+3+3+4 formula which seek to replace the 10+2 current system of education will infact prove titanic to the Naga students as it will enhance their cognitive skills and the aptitude inherent .The new 4 system formula will perhaps activate the thunderstorm and bring joy of rain to the students as it will enable them the right to choose the subjects based on their individual interests which will open up various combinations for students unlike the 10+2 system where the students are required to plump for one of the streams like science, humanities, social sciences or commerce. The likes of IIT Delhi and IIT Kharagpur attaching department of humanities and social sciences in their institute is the perfect paradigm which NEP envisages on attaining multiple disciplines in various schools and institutions. The co-curriculum and vocational subjects like sports, arts, commerce, science will be treated at the same level. This will enable many enthusiastic Naga sportsperson, photograpers, designers, artisans etc to display their proficiency in their field of interest hence evading the incoming unemployment which strike at the boastful 21.4 percentage according to the report tabled by Periodic labour Force Survey 2017-2018. This will also churn out less anxiety and hence could prove beneficial to the students possessing different enterprises.
The NEP unveils a host of opportunities to the students in the educational technology sector. This will enable many students from Nagaland to avail the elbow room. This edtech will make their learning more accurate, interactive and engaging. For instance online tutoring and peer learning platforms will not only integrate the students-teacher relationship but simultaneously student-student integration. The Diksha application will also help teachers to create training content, profile, in-class resources, assessment aids and connect with teacher community. The students will in addition be able to get access to diverse digital platforms such as Divyang Friendly Educational Software, Massive Open online Courses(MOOCS) ,e-content in various languages, virtual labs etc which will make them competent suffice to throw one’s hat in the ring with the outside world. This edtech will ease the learning burden of the Naga students.
The Mother tongue which the NEP proposed to bring until at least grade V sounds viable.Research has shown that childrens first language is the optimal language for literacy and learning through primary school (UNESCO 2008a).Without sceptic mother tongue in primary education will succour the child in the learning process as the child is taught in the language he or she is familiar to.This will help them to develop critical thinking and evolve better comprehension. This was rightly stated by Nelson Mandela when he quoted “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.”This policy indeed looks quite fascinating and deliberates word of honour. The backlash of this policy averred where english is the dominant language of internet, science and technology. It will also effect the children of people in transferable jobs and so forth. In the binocular context of Nagaland where english is literally the taste, colour and blood of the Nagas as most of the communication process is done in english in the educational sector, official premises or paper documents, the inception of mother tongue as the medium of instruction at the primary level may not prove so considerable as reflected and it will hamstrung the child communication skills in the long sprint where english is entirely a requisite subject and indispensable. After the primary level the child has to learn english anyhoo as english is still regarded as the heart and soul in our education system. With english being used excessively in our everydaylife from the time we wake up to greet good morning till the dawn of goodnight shows how depended the word english has set foot our life. For example a well qualified person with tad proficiency in english pitch will distinctly facetime embarassment when confronting an interviewer and more likely to experience disconcert as lack of proper speech will ten to one evince detrimental. With 16 tribes and languages spoken indistinctively it is quite difficult to bring any specific mother tongue into our education system. The Andhra Pradesh government recently approved english as the medium of instruction at the primary level taking into account the english necessity in the age of artificial intelligence. If at this juncture the Nagas genuinely want to excel and compete with the exterior factor then english should be given utmost importance of all at the primary level irrespective of any languages be it regional or local. However mother tongue should in no way remain unacknowledged and the current process of MIL(Modern Indian languages) should be given at par importance to that of english. It is now up-to the Nagaland government to deal with this issue intensively and implement policies essentially as of attractive and perpetual beneficial to the students.

How farmers bill will footprint the consumers.

The contentious Farmers Bill 2020 recently passed by both the parliament includes the following character, the Farmers Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation )Act 2020,Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement and Price Assurance and Farm Services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities Act 2020. This Bill was enacted to create a sense of self monopoly whereby each farmers will have their prerogatives and sell their churn out items without involving any third party as the negotiators. The Government of India considers this bills as pro farmers and highly perceive it could double the income of the farmers as prescribed in the double income of the farmers 2022. Theoretically the bill looks famously promising and highly feasible which could enhance the farmers woes. But the technical exertion could route the other way round. The farmers enthusiastically started protesting against the bill on the account of the aforementioned clauses. The farmers believe it will saliva injustice and hence do away with APMC(Mandis) and the famed MSP (minimum support price) regulated by the Government of India and instead form a draconian arena where the benefit will solely be focused in the hands of the capitalism. This will initially generate a form of Marxian era where the farmers will replicate the so called ‘have-nots’ ie workers who were exploited inadvertently by the “haves” the capitalist posh.

The protest has escalated intensively especially in northern states with Punjab and Haryana as the front runners. They have clamoured for a change in the aforementioned clauses and instead implored to strengthen MSP to be officially declared as a legal right so as to bump off the capitalist exploitation of power bargaining. The farmers also fear that they will have teeny-weeny scope in contracts with the private buyers. With more than 85 percent of farmers owning less than two hectares of land it becomes ultimately laborious for them to negotiate with the large scale buyers at first hand.

The Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill 2020 which seeks to deregulate commodities like cereals, pulses, oilseeds, edible oils, onion and potatoes from the list of essential commodities will infact pose a grave potential danger to the market force and it can accidentally impact the consumers. The price triggered formula as postulated will infact create a situation of a drowning man who glimpse powerless to reach the sea shore. With this items being kept in liberalised mode for a lengthy time span and without any scrutiny will doggedly elevate the rise in price and impact the consumers. The jump up in prices of this significant items will boost the inflation as consumers will not be able to afford it with ease. The incessant stocking can also lead to counterfeit price fluctuations and meagre prices for farmers after harvest. The infamous hoarding will take place as food particles can be stored for longer duration without the fear of being prosecuted. This will also elevate price upsurge as storage of such items for a prolonged period will maneuver the man’s conceived minds more consistent as a cunning fox by advancing the price of such items when scarcity booms to gain enormous profit as those items are a necessity with price rise or fall. With APMC restrained ,the farmers will now have to deal or bear the expenses of the transportation or the labour cost which will coincidentally unsolicit their income and likewise boost the price rise in the market. The ongoing protest will also impact the market force with high chances of price rise in almost all the commodities due to supply constraint. In a state like Nagaland where we are exponentially depended on the outside factor for the survival. The embargo and the price rise of such items will impact the consumers most as shortage of supply or price rise will affect our states economy. With APMC absent, it will also have an indirect impact on our state revenue as taxes charged at mandis will pause as private investors will start purchashing face to face from the farmers. With small and marginal farmers at galore prevalent in our state,APMC vocals a better window of opportunity and a sustainable environment and hence provides utmost security.

In order to evade the existing protest organised by the farmers fraternity which is more likely to impact the food items consumed by the people in the protracted sprint, the colossal measures needs to be reformed by the government in favour of the farmers with APMC enhancement instead of expunging it. The idea of obliterating the middle man should stand invalid as private investors will also keep the middlemen as the negotiators to deal with the farmers. Instead The negotiators should be kept at check to eschew corrupt practises. The Government should also invest in areas of agriculture importance and revamp the agriculture structure instead of relying on the private investors to do their homework. The main purpose of the private entities is to earn profit and they will therefore stoop so low in the initial stage to grab the customers by using artifice method with significantly low price or the discount method for a short span of time. The Government should also declare MSP as the official legal rights of the farmers to avoid victimisation. The onus is now on the government to sweep the board the confidence of the farmers. It must unconditionally stick out to the farmers and emphathetically listen to them. Tokato K Sumi. New Colony Zunheboto

The perturbed impact of counterfeit alcohol in Nagaland

Fake or illegally churn out alcohol that is produced in unlicensed distilleries or people’s abode or small cottage units and intended for sale is termed Fake alcohol.Counterfeit alcohol is a related issue where cheap or adulterated alcohol is sold with fake packaging by means of manipulation. Alcohol was percieved to exist for medicinal purposes during the sixteenth century however the transgress misuse of alcohol was witnessed in the eighteenth and nineteenth century which ultimately propelled some significant countries such as US to take proceedings to put an embargo on the manufacture, sale, import and export of the exceeding alcohol. Nevertheless by late 1930s  such stoppage on the exceeding alcohol remains discontinued. Alcohol prohibition in India is also in force in states like Bihar, Gujarat, Mizoram, Nagaland as well as in the union territory of Lakshadweep.
The Nagaland liquor Total prohibition Act 1989 reads “to totally prohibit possession, sale, consumption and manufacture of liquor in and of import and export thereof in the state of Nagaland. Despite its tremendous lay hold of steps , the act looks more of redundant in the current scenario . In 2019 Nagaland reported zero convictions under the NLTP Act as well as the Nagaland Excise Act as per the Prison Statistics India 2019 report released by the National Crime Records Bureau. The report requires massive applauds from the denizen but the irony says a different theory though. In a state where according to the study published by the “Magnitude of substance use in India 2019 report released by the ministry of social justice and empowerment, 8.1 percent of the population of Nagaland or 3.62 lakh people currently consume or use alcohol. Not a single individual was fettered for breaking the protocol under the NLTP Act manifest in itself a pure mockery towards justice. Prohibition leaps and bounds counterfeit, adulterated alcohols, bootleggers and black market. The prohibition is the pivotal reason that impetus the syndicate group to indulge in hooch system thereby manoeuvres the alcohol into adulteration. Prohibition infact has inherent not halted the people from drinking, people tends to urge for even low quality product which they know is disastrous to their health. Most often the clandestine cottage industry preparations are made in unhygienic environments, the additives to the deadly mix enhance the hazard. It also creates an environment of revenue loss to the public exchequer. In addition it has serious implications for consumers.Producing fake alcohol is a catch sight of making money and it can be bought cheaply by the consumers . However it possess a gigantic problem thereby deteriorating our health and at risk. There has been many instances of poisoning and deaths following the consumption of adulterated liquor. People of the lower socio- economic status are inflicted more as they usually have the habit of consuming illicit or home brewed alcohol which they get it at a fair reasonable price despite its known hazard.
Intensified certified alcoholic drinks are made with ethanol – beverage that is safe to drink in moderation. But fake alcoholic drinks are manufactured using cheaper means of chemicals used in cleaning fluids, nail polish remover and automobile screen wash, as well as methanol and isopropanol which are used in antifreeze.Drinking beverages containing these chemicals can cause nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, drowsiness and dizziness. It can also lead to kidney or liver problems and even coma. Methanol, a substance which can be used in fake vodka, may cause permanent blindness.Per capita alcohol consumption in India has more than doubled from 2005 to 2016, according to a report published by the WHO.The harmful use of alcohol is one of the leading risk factors for population health worldwide and has a direct impact on many health-related targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including those for maternal and child health, infectious diseases (HIV, viral hepatitis, tuberculosis), noncommunicable diseases and mental health, injuries and poisonings. In 2016, the harmful use of alcohol resulted in some 3 million deaths (5.3 per cent of all deaths) worldwide and 132.6 million disability-adjusted life years (DALYs). Mortality resulting from alcohol consumption is higher than that caused by diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and diabetes. In 2019 at the launch of North Eat Artist Network (NEAN), an initiative under Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition (NLTP) Act, 1989 DHD(District hospital Dimapur)Sr. Psychiatrist Dr Kezo averred that alcohol-related ailments in the State could be viewed as “evergreen disease” due to the huge number of patients that DHD received all through the year, adding 50% of indoor patients suffered from ailments due to excess consumption of alcohol. He even stated that consumption of liquor by alcoholics peaked when they were between the the ages of 18 and 60 years.
In Nagaland, alcohol adulteration and its regular intake has literally wreck one of the members of the family, eventually leading the entire family to suffer the damage formed by an individual. An alcoholic can be any one from the family members, however in most cases the father is the victim. An alcoholic father who disillusioned the hope of his wife, sons and daughters. The wife hearts leads astray and in despair, the sons dream shattered and disconsolation accompanies resembling a shadow creatures his entire voyage ,the daughters adrift in the midst of the deteriorating bridge with no fatherly figure to secure her. This intense feeling creates a spider web like structure making it difficult for them to break out from the affix. The children then proceeds to partake in any unwanted substance abuse .The strong children survives but not everyone has the valour to fight the unending battle and thereby leads them wide of the mark into sub human disguise. In most of the cases the victim becomes encumbered to the family and all the expenses meant for the future savings retire in vain with money liquid consumed for the victims dilapidating health leading to death at long last. The regular alcoholic intakers should therefore possess the habit of minimising their drinking habits or less leave it discharged in order to eschew from this infamous and inherent encounter.

Recently the DNSU(Dimapur Naga Students Union) with arms shield armor pressurized the Government of Nagaland to check the illegal flow of liquor.likewise CNTC(Central Nagaland Tribes)in supplement applauded DNSU initiative and call for the formation of the committee to look into the affairs of the counterfeit alcohol and implored scrutiny for the procurement of their trade licenses .Thence the Commissioner of Excise Dimapur formed a committee to be headed by the Deputy Commissioner (Narcotic Cell) S Chanlei Angh to eye into the issue of illegal liquor outlets in Dimapur. This ultimatum and the formation of the committee looks quite promising but the action orientated still remains a questionnaire.

Article 47 of the Indian constitution speech about enhancing public health as among its primary duties and in particular endeavour to bring prohibition of intoxicating drinks and drugs which are injurious to health. These provision regards counterfeit alcohol beverages as void. The Government of Nagaland should infact action orient these provision in order to ensure healthy and better access of alcohol drinking and establish protocol to outwit the pragmatic fake alcohol or more people is likely to die of adulteration in the immediate future.
There is ten to one the essential of indispensable economically packaging solutions to steer a vital role in swaying the counterfeiting and liquor adulteration. The use of aseptic packaging becomes extremely requisite. Karnataka is the perfect paradigm to use aseptic packaging followed by UP, west Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Union territories of Puducherry and Daman and Diu. The Government of Nagaland should also follow this proceedings as aseptic packaging ensures hygienic and tamper proof (anti counterfeit) and more lighter and less fragile. It also allows the dual edge for brand owners and consumers both to identify safe and reliable liquor brands at the point of sale.Indian government initiative of introducing HEAL(Holographic Excise Adhesive Labels) was another stepping stone to combat counterfeiting and adulteration in the liquor segment. This was first adopted by Tamil Nadu.Today more than 17 states excise department are utilizing HEAL. This has not only let fall the hooch catastrophe and replication but has supplementary elevated the revenue collection in states. The government of Nagaland should henceforth uphold this HEAL strategy to evade alcohol adulteration. Adulteration plus or minus, there has been suffice adversity incurred by the exceeding alcohol. People committing crimes under the influence of alcohol, car mishap, rape incidents, pilferages and many more. The only feasible method is to conscious drink wise and fight shy of all unnecessary calamities before alcohol circulates in men the unrestrained madness. The best doable modus operandi is to leave the individual to decide his choice and make him consciously sensitized about the harmful impact of alcohol and its stake. In drawing inferences counterfeit alcohol should be ceased by all means for the betterment and welfare of the people.

“Alcohol makes everything better, until it makes everything worse. “- Caroline Knapp.

The existing digital inequality with special reference to Nagaland.

The prospect of digital literacy is high. The masses oblivious of the implications of the digital use in this contemporaneous era will manifest themselves as being socially outcasted. The survival of the fittest is either we draw our attention explicit to the current digital life or less become a prey in the hands of the hungry lion.

The late 1980s has been a crucial time where technology started to exist to surprise the sleeping world. A meagre 1 percent of the technologically stored information was in digital format and the insensibility to get the picture that this value of 1 percent will hit the masses in the 2020s with almost 99 percent of the information being stored in digital format.

No wonder Digital revolution will bring itself a form of inequality thereby disastrously inflicting the masses with the poor and the illiterate the gist victim and a more handful of literate with less knowledge of its versatile use.

The pros of the digital literacy stands more of infinite however to tackle the cons existing and prevailing, the need of the hour is better infrastructure with the availability of considerable Mobile towers, the internet expedites etc with quality education on digital use.

India regarded as one of the most internet users with over 560 million and counting and regarded as the second largest online market in the world and yet the other side of the coin picth a different story.Millions still suffers due to infrastructure inaccessibility. The rural areas are worst hit. The Bharat Net programme came as a flabbergast pack to get internet access all across the country and people were sound rejoicing but the fiasco to uplift the project missed all its deadline while the costs involved doubled. Simultaneously National Literacy Mission has barely touched 2 percent of the population and has been wrestling for funds.

Article 21 ,Article 38(2) and 39 of the Indian constitution provides provision for the right to internet access without inequality thereby proceeds to achieve digital literacy. However these provision has merely become more of a blank paper with nothing to script. In order to restart the archaic engine, the government should start accelerating so as to revamp the scheme and resources meant to promote digital literacy and internet access. The more procrastination will rust off the metal engine if kept undetermined for a longer period.

The campaign for equity internet access and digital literacy should also be promoted as acknowledged in SDGs(Sustainable Development Goals) as well as Digital Mission 2015.

Nagaland Context –

Lack of proper internet access and digital inequality is present unprecedent in our Naga society with masses ignorant of venturing or adapting to new things. The poor infrastructure is the major achilles heel with hardly no or more or less mobile tower hanging in our locality like a futile tree with a sign job done however in reality the towers are visualized as alienated and without care.
The Bharat Net programme and Digital Mission which vow to bring the rural sector on the par with urban level in digital sector looks not so promising for the Nagas stationed in rural and village sector. Forget about bringing downwards to the Village level it is unequivocally clear that towns suffers the most with infrastructure deficiency.
The online trend surprisingly came as a shock to the people who never realized until lockdown persist. Everything started to go online with office works, business management, health, exams and so forth. The disaster then incepted like a roaring volcano when better internet access was not available tagged with lack of digital literacy. People angered and clamoured for better internet access yet the cry was heard meagre . As a result digital Inequality persist where social and economic backwardness exacerbated due to information poverty, lack of infrastructure and lack of digital literacy.
This ultimately is worrisome where internet access and digital literacy today paves the way people work, collaborate, consume information and entertain themselves. It’s time the Government grabs the gear and takes serious note of the prevailing situation and takes measures wherever requisite for a better tomorrow.

The recent “Modis” operandi of banning the Chinese influential global Tik Tok and mobile legend game including the other 57 application as a retaliatory measures against the Chinese intrusion in the Indian border has been a welcome proceedings and a loud eulogy from the global prescriptive.

However among the others, the applications that has greatly implicated many Nagas has been tik tok abbreviated as TALENT KILLED already along with mobile legend and clash of kings. These applications are created for entertainment purpose no doubt however not making judicious utility of the time is the problem. These application can easily manipulate you without you being conscious of your time being spent.

Children watching their peers play game.

Many Nagas taking into consideration the youth and the students has been the victim of this saitanic trend. Forget about your studies or other significant work being kept in ‘Suspension Mode’.It is of no surprise to note that your Mother cannot bawl you for the food served. Shame on you the so called narcissist Mobile legend. You don’t even take the courage of getting up from the Seat Of Comfort for your basic need then what is the point of your Life living.

Tik Tok is no Talent. For those girls trying to showcase your not so enterprise by randomly moving your hips and hands is not at all pleasing. Instead of wasting time on random hips and hands move. Its better for you to show your hands move in the kitchen helping and doing your household chores or doing something efficacious your gifted hands possess.
Not banned but the trending PUBG (Person Under Blanket Growling) is no less exception. The time spent on this game when estimated on your study hour can succour an individual in preparing their academic exams as well as any competitive exams achieving par excellence.

The management of time table

Freedom for the pike is death for the minnows likewise the freedom of time spent on PUBG and other mobile games by the individual is the death of the aptitude possessed.

With these applications being kept in tentative mode. This is the perfect time to rise from your comfort seat and to the real world to battle not to others but to yourself .Your potential plays a significant role here.

The real world is very crucial. If you don’t battle now then you will end up doing nothing.
Grab the opportunity of doing something resourceful. If you are good in studies, start preparing for competitive exams, if you are a good sports person, start training, if you are good in editing and creating then start practising,if you are good in software development then start developing and etc etc proficiency possessed by different individual. The Talent should not be kept in hidden mode. If you don’t ignite the light inside of you then it will remain in dark ever.

Before it’s way too late and Regretting becomes your only friend. Time is ripe now so start you engine soon before it gets disfigured.

‘If you don’t build your dreams someone will hire you to build theirs’- Mukesh Ambani.

How you wish you had spent most of your time doing something productive instead of wasting your precious time on those Games and application.
Don’t let the game fool and besieged you. You Control the game.Period.

To read an article is not so burdensome for anyone but to comprehend every sentence in the script with ease and quick is not for everyone.
Therefore re-reading plays a very significant role here.
The enthusiastic reader has the habit of reading hence reading comprehension becomes quite easy. The reading habit therefore is titanic.
Without sceptic Nagas has people with great reading habit however there are also Nagas with meagre reading habit.
Reading without explicit understanding is a threat. Its only when you misinterpret the concept that ignites contention.
The habit of not reading properly and possessing lack of COMPREHENSION is the result when one consciously or unconsciously establishes ill comments on someone else’s post thereby inflaming the DISPUTABLE battle of words.
The impatience of not reading intensively the lengthy articles and skipping the earmarked sentences down to the conclusion without proper grip has initially become the habit of many Nagas. The NAGAS therefore requires self estimation and thence enhance their reading habits so as to impede any CONTROVERSIAL remarks.

The exercise of Re-reading

Not every post or article published is meant for debate, there are some well written articles that requires acclamation and positive feedback and yet many Nagas ignorance and fiasco to understand those concept clearly replenish those articles with unwanted terms.
It is an absolute offence that requires immediate rectification.

The role of re-reading here signifies great VALUE. The prescription to evade misinterpretation is to retariate reading. In supplementary re-reading will surely help an individual in noticing something that he or she missed before.

The best method to counter is to understand the concept vivid.

Read read read-
William Faulkner

P. S- The culture of randomly LIKING on someone’s post without reading as we inadvertently do is escalating more like a viral fever that requires a check up. Thereby an appeal to all the readers to stop RANDOM click and develop the tendency of reading and re-reading before pressing the judgement.

Food for thought

Sushant Singh rajput tragic death has intensively created a sense of complete sensation in the media world. No wonder his mysterious death still remains unanswerable with Bollywood celebrities playing a blame game. The forensic though has vividly declared it as a SUICIDE. Whatever the reason let’s hope justice precedes above all

Sushant Singh rajput tragic death is more like any other death. The suicidal death of the indispensable farmers for sustence, the infamous poor and vulnerable for poverty and malnutrition, the soldiers in duty at home and at borders guarding against the encroachers, the rape victim who succumbed to death with no fault of her. And yet the show must go on with the subject of importance evaded and required to discourse in public domain fades away with ease and the celebrities news invariably tops the chart all over again.
The media unequivocally is biased that they cannot visualize the death of others except the celebrities. The people are so overwhelmed and touched by the beauty of celebrities that they overlook the struggles of the farmers and poor alike. The subject to be deliberated is kept in abeyance with a strong content ‘No justice for poor’

When the justice woo for celebrities can happen overnight and viral elevated in second time; why is cry for justice still in alienation and ignorant for others.

A crystal clear nepotism is world wide famous and nobody in this world can deny the existence of NEPOTISM. It all starts from the family itself and ends nowhere.
When the justice clamouring boycott the Nepotism era in bollywood is loud and explicit;why no such publicity for boycotting nepotism era in government offices, private enterprises, schools and other requisite jurisdiction.

Are we so dumb not to contend or fight for the depressed classes and instead solicit favour to celebrities only just because we fancy them.
Are we so ignorant about others without whom our source of food and security is at stake.

Its probably the best time to raise our voice for the people concerned instead of relaxing with hands fold and complacent muse.
